Hi Folks –
Unfortunately Michael Von der Porten’s email account at AOL (mikevdpca@aim.com) has been hijacked and the perpetrators are sending out phony messages asking for money. This is a common attack and is all too common with AOL and Yahoo email addresses (they’re pretty easy to break in to).
Please ignore distress messages from mikevdpca@aim.com and mark them “Spam” or “Pfishing”.
I’ll be calling Michael on the phone later this morning to let him know (it’s not a civilized hour for calling yet).
My recommendation is that if you are still using an AOL or Yahoo email address, you switch to the much more secure Google Gmail.
