DMR LogoDMR Net – Thursdays 6:30pm

Join us on the fastest growing digital voice mode every Thursday at 6:30pm Pacific Time! We meet on the BrandMeister talk group 31707 (Sonoma County). It is open to any amateur radio operator that can get on DMR. Whether that’s a DMR handheld, mobile or even an AMBE 3000 USB key fob running BlueDV, we want to hear from you!

If you have a common Chinese DMR radio, we probably have a code plug on this site that gets you there!

Randy AA6RH is the usual net control operator, though he is trying to grow the pool of net control operators for this net. We look forward to seeing you on the talk group!

Fusion Net – Thursdays 7:00pm

Join us every Thursday evening for our Yaesu System Fusion net.  See the Weekly Blog or the Fusion page on this website for the current repeater frequency and more information.  We use Wires-X Room K6SON-ROOM #80798.

The purpose of this net is to practice using and learning about Fusion for Amateur Radio Operators, as well as provide other news of interest to radio amateurs. We also usually have a weekly question which provides a fun way to discuss other radio and non-radio topics.

Tuesday Net
Jun 11 @ 7:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Sonoma County Radio Amateurs’ net meets Tuesday at 7:00 PM on the SCRA repeater, 147.315, positive offset, PL 88.5

All members and guests are invited to check in. The Net includes updates on SCRA activities, and Newsline, the amateur radio community news service.

Anyone wishing to work as net control should contact Iola, KK6HRE, at iolabeckley@att.net for assignment.  Script and logs are available on the Website at http://sonomacountyradioamateurs.com/wp/resources/net-script/

Joe, K6AWA, conducts a 10 meter Net beginning at 8:00 PM on Tuesday on 28.403 Mhz. This is in the Technician portion of the band and all amateurs can participate for an informal introduction to High Frequency Radio and talk radio.

Ragchew Net
Jun 11 @ 8:00 PM – 9:30 PM

Ragchew Net

On the repeater – tune in to 147.315 + PL 88.5

QST, QST, calling all radio amateurs from Gary, N2BBB, net control station for the SCRA ragchew net. This is a moderated, round-robin ragchew net intended to bring our members and non-members together in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere allowing us to have fun and make new friends. As this is a ragchew net, all stations are encouraged to stay around and participate in the ongoing conversation. All stations will be worked in the order they checked in, on a rotation basis.  The opening script for the net will provide more details.

The ragchew net will meet for about 60-90 minutes (unless closed earlier for lack of participants) to inform, enlighten and perhaps add a bit of humor to the day.  We invite all newcomers, especially new hams, to join us. Round-robin ragchew QSOs are in the true spirit of amateur radio and provide a format for the exchange of information and general discussion on technical tips, ham equipment, antennas, personal opinions, local weather, sports, your latest home project, gardening feats, and gear swap/buy/sell listings (consistent with Part 97 rules). Let’s try to avoid divisive, controversial political/social issues.

This is a moderated net. Check-ins will be taken based on the first letter of your callsign suffix, beginning with stations A-H, ALPHA through HOTEL then stations I-P INDIA through PAPA and lastly, stations Q-Z, QUEBEC through ZULU, establishing the rotation for the evening. There will be periodic calls by net control for late check-ins, and stations leaving the net can advise net control so they can be removed from the ongoing roundtable rotation.

We invite all hams to join the fun!

Terrible Two – 15 June 2024 – Canceled for 2024, back in 2025
This is one of the toughest double centuries in the state and requires lots of good operating skills. We’ve got aid stations, a few NC slots, and SAGs available. While traffic consists of informational traffic, we do transmit rider number and times – you will get a lot of traffic handling experience. If you want to visit remote parts of Sonoma County, sag for the TT is one way to do it. TT starts at 0530 and finishes around 2300.
