Yaesu System Fusion – WIRES-X

Our repeater on Castle Rock is a Yaesu DR-2X rig that operates using Fusion AMS (Automatic Mode Switching). RF signals are repeated in the mode received: either analog FM or digital C4FM. Both modes are welcome on this repeater.

Stations transmitting in C4FM with WiRES-X capable equipment can connect to SCRA’s WiRES-X room: K6SON-ROOM #80798. Using WIRES-X, you can also connect the K6SON room to any other digital-only WIRES-X room. To use the repeater in digital mode, put your radio in DN (Digital Narrow) voice mode, and set WiRES-X/GM DG-IDs to 07. You can participate in the currently active room and/or with others who also tune to this frequency.

Analog FM users: please set your radio receive to CTCSS 88.5 in order to suppress Fusion digital noise on your radio!

Weekly net: Thursdays at 7pm Pacific time. This is a Fusion/WiRES-X enabled net on the Castle Rock repeater and in the K6SON room. Local radio operators who cannot reliably connect to the W6SON repeater and all radio amateurs with Fusion-capable equipment–local and remote–are invited and encouraged to participate in this net.

To learn more about Yaesu System Fusion and its WIRES-X capability, see this presentation from the club meeting on Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

You are welcome to change the repeater WIRES-X Room connection to another room.  Please use this protocol:

• “Is the W6SON repeater busy? This is (your callsign)”
• Wait a few seconds to identify whether or not the repeater is busy
• “This is (your callsign) accessing room (room).”
