An SCRA member asked me for suggestions on a mobile HF/VHF radio mobile installation that allows for easy connections/disconnections for back and forth radio operation at his home. Many years ago, a company named Atlas built a few versions of HF radio that slid into a mobile slide mount. Nowadays radios are not designed with slide mobile mounts. I am open to suggestions for this type of installation. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hey there John, I just installed a Yaesu FTM150R that slides in and out. Not sure, but I wonder if this may be a feature on new Yaesu’s now. It works really easy with a small lift up lever. Mounted under the seat, and with the cables a tad bit long it can easily be removed.
