NEW THIS YEAR (2022):

• Stewart's Point replaces Island View.  No boat ride.
• Cross-band repeater added.
• 55K course added.
• No tee-shirts given.

The Lake Sonoma 100K/55K consists of a 100 and a 55 kilometer footrace at Lake Sonoma.  

• Operational Time: 0500-2315
• Operational Area: Western Arm (Warm Springs Arm) of Lake Sonoma / Warm Springs Dam
• Net Control Location: South Lake Trailhead (off Skaggs Springs-Stewarts Point Rd) at the event's Start-Finish
• What: 100 km (62 mile) footrace [Ultra running event] and 55 km (34.2 mile) footrace

• Simplex Event:  146.535
• Cross-Band Repeater: 146.535 --> 443.750.  One-way repeat at Madrone Point.  Net Control will monitor both VHF and UHF but transmit on VHF only.  All aid stations should transmit on VHF only.
• Comments: This event is run on remote trails behind Lake Sonoma. The club repeater and others are not reachable in this locale.
• NC sets up at the South Lake Trailhead same as Start-Finish for the event.
• Some stations may be HT friendly: Madrone Point, Stewart's Point.  Via the cross-band repeater, Warm Springs and Lone Rock.
• Operators at Warm Springs Creek and Lone Rock should bring a full-power mobile with a good antenna in case we go 2M simplex only.
• Extensive radio traffic is expected: reporting times and bib numbers of all runners.
• Aid Stations are remote and sometimes require as much as 45 minutes to reach from NC.
  • Madrone Point is up on the ridge about 100 yards past the gate at Liberty Glenn and is easily drivable.
  • Warm Springs is 0.4 miles beyond the gate across the road.
  • Lone Rock is a parking lot with paved-road access.
  • Stewart's Point replaces Island View and is accessible from Skaggs Springs-Stewarts Point Rd.  Search maps.google.com for "Skaggs Springs Vista Trailhead".
• Net Control and Start are easy drive-up locations.  Start duties end quickly.  Come on up to Net Control and hang.
• Portable Toilets:
  
  • Madrone Point - Nearest restroom is at 500 yards back at Liberty Glen Campground.
  • Warm Springs - None.  Nature beckons.
  • All other ham locations: Yes!

NOTE:  THE FOLLOWING MAP IS INCORRECT.  START IS LOCATED AT FINISH.  ISLAND VIEW IS REPLACED WITH SKAGGS SPRINGS VISTA TRAILHEAD.  MADRONE POINT IS LOCATED UP THE FIREROAD.  THE TABLE OF DISTANCES AND TIMES IS INCORRECT.  THE 55K COURSE GOES TO WULFOW AND RETURNS.  OTHER THAN THAT, THIS MAP FROM 2021 IS ALMOST ACCURATE.
