Field Day 2018 Public Service Signup
Field Day Sign-up (Friday Only)
Event Chair: Brian Torr, N6IIY
2018 ARRL Field Day is June 22, 23, 24
Field Day is perhaps the most unique of club activities. It’s an odd mixture of contesting, public demonstration, a social event, a technical training session, class on how to set up stations and antennas (and take them down, safely), an acid test for our radios and antennas, and a time to hone our operating skills.
And all that in one action-packed weekend!
Specifically, the weekend beginning at around 5pm on Friday, June 22 and ending around 3pm on Sunday, June 24. The location will be the same as last year, Youth Community Park (aka Skateboard Park) at 1725 Fulton Rd, in Santa Rosa, across the road from Piner High School.
More details can be found at the Field Day website:
Many of the tasks are of relatively short duration (30 minutes to an hour), so we encourage you to sign-up for as many as you can. However, please note the times of each task, so you avoid signing up for two (or more!) tasks that are scheduled for the same time.
Also, for those of you signing up for the TH6 Assembly/Erection, and Crank-Up Mast Prep / Erection, there will be a practice session on the QTH of Doug Payne, KF6LMB, on June 9, beginning at 9:00 am. Please try to make it to this practice session if you can.
For the setup and teardown-related tasks especially, the start and end times shown in the sign-ups below are broad estimates. Please be flexible, especially if you have signed up for more than one. .
The times shown for station operator represent the time that station is expected to be active. Contact the Station Captain directly to request a particular time you can operate. This is an area where we can show great flexibility.
If you are not sure where to sign-up, sign-up under one of the Miscellaneous Site Setup categories for the particular day; we will see that you get assigned where we need help.
