Rodney Strong Monte Rio Triathlon
June 10, 2018
We’d like to invite you to join us for the sixth annual Monte Rio Triathlon! This race has quickly become a favorite early season race in northern California. In the past we have sold out a few weeks before race day with a cap of 1000 athletes. We will be allowing 1100 athletes in 2018. We will continue to have a Sprint distance race along with the Olympic distance race. This gives an option to anyone not quite ready for the longer distance triathlon.

Terrible Two – 16 June 2018
This is one of the toughest double centuries in the state and requires lots of good operating skills. We’ve got aid stations, a few NC slots, and SAGs available. While traffic consists of informational traffic, we do transmit rider number and times – you will get a lot of traffic handling experience. If you want to visit remote parts of Sonoma County, sag for the TT is one way to do it. TT starts at 0530 and finishes around 2300
The Tour D’ Organics is a unique bike ride event in the western county, divided up into four routes of 16, 35, 65, and 100 miles. 7 Rest stops are located at organics farms and businesses along the routes. http://tourdorganics.com/rest-stops.html We are looking for radio operators to staff the rest stops. Nice cushy, low key duty. Good food, shade, what else could you ask for. This year, the Tour will be organizing the SAGs (registering, assigning times, routes etc.) If you are interested in being a Radio SAG, please sign up both here AND on the Tour’s volunteer webpage. http://tourdorganics.com/volunteer.html This will be a repeater event. Rest stops 1, 5, 6 & 7 should be an easy hop for an HT. Rest stops 2, 3 & 4 and Radio SAGS would be better served using a mobile rig. We would like as many Radio Sags to be APRS equiped as possible. Route maps can be found online at http://tourdorganics.com/routes.html
Radio Hams are needed for Rest stops, and Radio SAGS. Signup coming soon.
More event information can be found at http://tourdorganics.com/directions-parking.html
