Why Field Day????
Because it’s fun!!! Where else can you experience practically the full gamut of our wonderful hobby in just one weekend? You want to learn how to set up a station? Field Day’s go you covered. You want to learn how to set up antennas? Plenty of that happening at Field Day! Want to learn how to operate in an HF contest? Field Day’s just the ticket! Want to learn how to make a Satellite contact? We do that, too at Field Day! Want to socialize with other hams and see what they’re up to? Come on down to Field Day!
And, if you like camping, you are invited to camp out both Friday and Saturday nights!

The Community Outreach Committee will provide information and extend community awareness of Sonoma County Radio Amateurs (SCRA) and amateur radio in general. This is a wonderful opportunity to share your passion of amateur radio with the community at large.

How to Classes for all amateur radio hams

WHERE: Rincon Valley Mobile Estates, 4671 Circle Drive, Santa Rosa 95409
WHO: All radio amateurs who want to learn about Public Service Volun-teering and providing Net Control for SCRA Tuesday night Net.
WHY: With over 200 members, we should not be depending on a small handful of members to cover all the bases with volunteering for events and Net Control. This information will help newer hams to step up and volunteer, there-by increasing their knowledge and radio ability.
WHAT: A casual classroom style training session for hams of all levels who want to participate in Public Service Events and Tuesday night Net Control
A Certificate of Completion will be given to all participants

How to . . . Work Tuesday Night Net Control
How to . . . Work as an event Water/Rest Stop Ham
How to . . . Work as a SAG for Public Service Event
How to . . . Work as a CommBoss for Public Service Events
UPON COMPLETION hams will feel more comfortable volunteering for SCRA Public Service Events, have more confidence in their ability to handle radio traffic like a Pro, have fun with other hams and get to see all the lovely out-of-the-way parts of Sonoma County that will otherwise be missed.
INSTRUCTORS: Charlie Sikes KZ6T; Iola Beckley KK6HRE—and any other SCRA member who wishes to attend and share their experiences.
Coffee, pastries and water will be available. If we decide to add more top-ics, we will provide a lunch and ask for donations.
SCRA Christmas Party
When: Wednesday, December 5, 2018, 5:30 pm until ~9:30 pm
Dinner will be served at 6:30pm
Where: Luther Burbank Art & Garden Center 2050 Yulupa Ave, Santa Rosa
What: Based upon last name, bring an appetizer (a – d), salad (e – k), side dish (l – r), or dessert (s –z). Roast Turkey, Ham,
Coffee, and Tea provided. You are welcome to bring your own beverages.
How Much: $ 8.00 per person (must be received by Friday, November 30)
